The importance of art

"Tax dollars should not be wasted on art, music or theater classes in high school. Public high schools should be about training young people to enter the workforce. Period."

• I believe that tax dollars are not being wasted on art, music, or theater classes in high school. Kids are taking everything they can out of these classes, they are gaining the knowledge that they want from art, music or theater classes. Art, music and theater classes are classes that train young people to enter the workforce. Many kids are interested in these classes and taking them in high school gets them ready for jobs like these in the real world. Art, music and theater are important in the real world and there are many jobs involving these areas of study. Students should take full advantage of having these art, music, and theater classes for free because the classes aren't free after high school.
